Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to examine the challenges and problems for grandparents to raising grand children in the rural area. The current study reviewed the reason for increasing grandparents grandchildren household and analyzed demographic factors surrounding grandparents-grandchildren household. Based upon literature review, the difficulties associated with grandparents-grandchildren families are studied in areas of economic, social and psychological/emotional situations. The current availabilities of social welfare programs for these families are presented, and the future policies for alleviating difficult life situations are suggested.
